Program Description

This program is designed to discuss--in depth--the techniques and clinical applications of the Radiomicrosphere Selective Internal Radiation Treatment in the management of primary and metastatic liver cancers. This CME symposium is a two-day event that consists of lectures, panel discussions and interactive case studies to expand your technical knowledge of, and clinical skills in, this evolving treatment modality.Topics include:
  • Scientific Basis of Radiomicrosphere Therapy
  • Clinical Indications, Patient Selection
  • Imaging Protocols for Disease Assessment and Patient Follow-up
  • Dosimetry
  • Treatment Decisions, Interventional Strategies

Target Audience:
The program welcomes Interventional Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Surgical Oncologists, Physicists, Nuclear Medical Technologists, and all other interested professionals in active medical practice.

Program Objectives:
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the scientific principles for Y-90 Selective Internal Radiation Treatment.
  • Describe clinical indications and contraindications, and identify patients who may benefit from such treatment.
  • Review imaging protocols for disease assessment and follow-up
  • Evaluate the efficacy of Radiomicrosphere therapy.
